Indonesian passport holders can use the 240-hour (10-day) visa-free transit scheme when travelling through Guangzhou to a third country. A 2–4 day medical check-up fits comfortably. This page explains who qualifies, what to bring, and what we cannot do for you.
The 240-hour transit scheme lets nationals of 55 countries, Indonesia among them, enter China without a visa at a list of approved ports — Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is one. You must be travelling onward to a third country or region, and you must hold a confirmed onward ticket. During the stay you may travel, do business, visit relatives, and undertake short-term medical visits. A 2–4 day check-up, or a follow-up consultation, fits.
Based on the National Immigration Administration transit policy as published in August 2026. Rules change — confirm with the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate before you book.
Bring paper copies as well as your phone. Immigration officers may ask for the onward ticket at the desk.
Ordinary passport with at least three months remaining and two blank pages.
A ticket to a third country or region, dated within 240 hours, with a seat confirmed — not a standby or open ticket.
Completed on arrival at the transit counter. Fill in the third-country destination, not Indonesia.
Your hotel or host address in Guangzhou. We provide this in writing once accommodation is confirmed.
Not required by immigration, but useful at the desk if asked the purpose of your visit. We provide a written appointment summary.
We publish this information as a guide, free of charge, so you can act on it yourself. We are not a visa agency. We do not submit applications for you, do not fill in forms for a fee, and cannot guarantee that any immigration officer will grant entry — that decision rests solely with the authorities. If your situation is not straightforward (previous overstay, a passport issue, long-term treatment), apply for a proper visa through the Chinese embassy or a licensed agency before you travel.
Send your arrival and departure dates and the country you are flying on to. We will tell you whether the 10-day window covers your appointments, and what to prepare.
