Prayer space, halal food, female doctors — settled before you decide.

Most hospitals in Guangzhou do not advertise this information, and it changes from one site to another. We ask each hospital the same set of questions and put the answers in writing, so you are not guessing when you land.

What we check

Six questions we ask every hospital.

These are the questions Indonesian families ask us first. We send them to the hospital handling your case and report back per hospital — including when the answer is no.

Is there a prayer room, and where is it?

Some Guangdong hospitals have a dedicated musholla, others have a quiet room that can be used. The floor, the opening hours and whether it has separate facilities for men and women differ by building, so we confirm the exact location rather than saying "yes".

Can halal food be delivered to the ward?

Hospital canteens vary. Where the hospital cannot provide halal meals, we identify nearby halal restaurants or a delivery arrangement that reaches the ward, and we tell you which of the two applies to the hospital in your plan.

Can I request a female doctor?

For gynaecology, obstetrics, breast care and any examination where modesty matters, we ask the hospital in advance whether a female clinician can be assigned. This is usually possible; it is more limited in some surgical sub-specialties, and we say so rather than promise.

Is there Indonesian-language support?

Indonesian, not English. We arrange an Indonesian-speaking coordinator for your case and ask whether the hospital can provide an Indonesian interpreter for consultations. Where it cannot, our own coordinator attends.

Can my family stay overnight?

Accompanying a patient is generally allowed, including in the consultation room, but ward policy differs by hospital and by department. We confirm the rule for your specific ward and, if overnight stays are not permitted, book accommodation within walking distance.

What about prayer during a long outpatient day?

Outpatient days can run long. We plan appointment blocks with prayer times in mind and identify the nearest prayer space in the building you will actually be in, not the one across the campus.

Practical notes

What the trip actually looks like.

Logistics, not clinical claims.

Arrival
Airport pickup by a coordinator who speaks Indonesian, transfer to accommodation, and a short briefing the evening before the first appointment.
Daily routine
Appointments scheduled around prayer times where possible, with a fixed meeting point and one WhatsApp thread for the whole stay.
Dining
A short list of halal restaurants near your accommodation, checked for current operation, plus the ward-delivery arrangement where the hospital offers one.
Departure
Discharge paperwork, a written summary of what to do next, and airport transfer — with the hospital's own follow-up channel, not ours.

What we do not claim

We cannot guarantee that every hospital will meet every requirement. Halal certification status, prayer-room provision and the availability of female clinicians vary by hospital and can change. What we can guarantee is that you get a written answer per hospital before you commit, and that if the answer is no, we tell you plainly rather than after you arrive.

Ask us the six questions about your hospital.

Send the name of the hospital in your plan, or just ask which hospitals can meet your requirements. We answer in Indonesian or English.
